Music Notes
We have scheduled a monthly visitation/singspiration for a local nursing home's Alzheimer's unit. Meetings will be held the second and fourth Monday night of each month, at 6:30 p.m. All ages are welcome to come and share the love of God through song.
We're primarily singing (or playing instrumentals of) older hymns--songs these senior citizens know. The hymns are warm packages of love, reaching through all demoralizing mental confusion to the heart of each resident. Staff members, too!
The Spirit of God has certainly been with us; the atmosphere has been full of love and comfort. I paraphrase what Jesus said: "If you've sung God's Word to encourage the least of these absolute captives, you've done it to Me."
